On Wednesday 21st February year 7 experienced an innovative and exciting performance called “Deadly Distraction” from a theatre company called the Riot Act. As part of Safer Roads West Yorkshire commitment to keeping young people across the region safe, this project was funded by Bradford Council’s Road Safety team.
It was a highly engaging, multi-media theatre event promoting key road safety messages. The key objectives were:
• To raise awareness of the danger of roadside distractions from music, phones and friends.
• To help students to identify and cope with peer influence and peer pressure.
• To promote safe, responsible and positive behaviour amongst students on the home to school journey.
The production was well received by our students and staff. It was a truly unique performance delivered by talented actors.
