Our Governors & Associate Members

Immanuel College is an academy with a Local Governing Body formed from four groups of people: (1) representatives from the community committed to maintaining the Christian ethos of the academy,’ (2) parents of school pupils, (3) school staff, (4) co-opted members with knowledge or experience which complements that of the elected / appointed members . We aim to have 18 governors – this means no single governor is overburdened by the many demands on a school governor’s time. The Local Governing Body may also co-opt Associate Members, with identified expertise, as necessary. All our governors are volunteers, who wish to make a positive contribution to the education of Immanuel students. All governors attend our Local Governing Body (LGB) meetings. Many also take on additional duties as listed below.
