On Wednesday 25th April, the Salters’ Festival of Chemistry annual competition saw schools from across Yorkshire compete against each other for Chemistry supremacy. 12 school brought teams of four students from Years 7 and 8.

The competition was held at Bradford University where Mr Gomez took along the four-strong Immanuel team consisting of Adam Bashir, Anjelica Jones, Heather Savage and Sam Phillips; all year 8. The students were faced with a forensic science task and a chemical dyes task – this was by no means easy chemistry.

The day was split into two halves: a morning and afternoon competition. At the end of the day the winners were announced and the mighty Immanuel team were crowned victorious!

Our 1st Place students were showered with prizes and will forevermore have their names etched into Chemistry competition history.

A very good day was had by all team captain, Sam Phillips is seriously considering a career in chemistry.
