The Library is managed by a Chartered librarian, Mrs Wigglesworth, and Mrs Hall is the library assistant .
The school library is located near to the main entrance to the school the school and provides an information service and resource base to all students and staff.
It is open from 8.30 am to 4pm every school day.
The Library contains approximately 9,000 volumes of borrowable books plus a reference collection.
The library also has 14 Internet accessible computers and printing facilities.
Lunchtimes are allocated on a year group basis, although the staff are flexible as to who is allowed in, depending on need.
Daily newspapers and a selection of magazines are available for students and staff.
At lunch and break time more entertaining material, such as ‘Where’s Wally’, ‘Guinness Book of Records’, ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not’ is available to read in the Library.
The Library also has games (such as Top Trumps, chess, draughts, snakes and ladders…) for lunchtime entertainment.
The library runs topical and book based quizzes throughout the year, for entertainment and also to encourage reading and information skills.
