THE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS POLICY 2006/7
The C of E associated ecclesiastical parishes are: Calverley, Eccleshill, Greengates, Idle, Shipley St Paul, Thorpe Edge, Windhill, Wrose, ·
The C of E associated schools are: Calverley VC Primary, Heaton VA Primary, Idle VA Primary, Shipley VA Primary, St Augustine’s VC Primary, St Luke’s VC Primary, Windhill VC Primary, Wycliffe VC Primary
The C of E associated deaneries are: Airedale and Calverley
Places shall be allocated in the following proportions between the church proportion and the community proportion, and within each allocation in the following order of priority allocating only to those pupils who choose the school as their first preference.
Section 1: The church proportion shall be 50%
1.1. Parent and/or child involvement in the work and worship of any of the associated Parishes.
1.2. Parent and/or child involvement in the work and worship of other Church of England parishes within the associated deaneries if the child attends an associated school.
1.3. Parent and/or child involvement in the work and worship of other Church of England parishes within the associated deaneries if this is the nearest Church of England Secondary school.
1.4. Parent and/or child involvement in the work and worship of a parish within the Diocese of Bradford if this is the nearest Church of England secondary school.
1.5. Parent and/or child involvement in the work and worship of congregations of other Christian churches which are within the associated deaneries if the child attends an associated school.
1.6. Parent and/or child involvement in the work and worship of congregations of other Christian churches if the child’s permanent home is within an associated parish.
1.7. Children of full time stipendiary Anglican ministers in the Diocese of Bradford.
- Children of employees of the Governing Body of Immanuel College.
- Child in Year 6 of an associated school in September of the autumn term preceding the autumn term of admission to Immanuel provided both parents have from the outset applied for a place at the school as their first preference.
- Child in Year 6 of any other Christian primary school within the associated Deaneries in September of the autumn term preceding the autumn term of admission to Immanuel provided both parents have from the outset applied for a place at the school as their first preference.
Any places not allocated within this proportion will be added to the percentage allocated under the non church proportion.
Section 2 - The Community proportion shall be 50%
2.1 Child who has a brother or sister already attending the school who will be continuing at the school in the year for which the applicant is applying, and who lives nearer to Immanuel College than any other secondary school
2.2 Places will be allocated to children whose permanent home address is nearest to the school
Any places not allocated within this proportion will be added to the percentage allocated under the church proportion
Notes
- “Nearest” means nearest by a direct line between the child’s permanent home address and the chapel of Immanuel College The chapel is within the school premises
- If within a category there are more qualifying applicants than places available, the remaining places will be allocated to those qualifying applicants who have a brother or sister already attending Immanuel College who will continue at the school in the year for which the applicant is applying; and then to children who live nearest to the chapel of Immanuel College.
- Other Christian churches or primary schools means churches, which are members of the Council of churches of Great Britain and Ireland or other churches or primary schools subscribing to the Nicene Creed.
