PSHCE

PSHCE is taught in all Key stages, and helps students to lead confident, healthy and responsible lives as individuals and as members of society. Through work in lesson time and also in activities beyond the curriculum, students gain practical knowledge and skills to help them live healthily and deal with the spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues they face as they approach adulthood.

The majority of the material used in KS3 and KS4 PSHCE is from LIFETRACKS, a programme of activities which closely follows the National Guidelines for teaching PSHE and Citizenship.

PSHCE is delivered by Form Tutors in years 8-13, where students are taught in their Tutor Groups.

Year 7 students have two lessons of PSHCE, one delivered in Tutor Groups by the Form Tutor and one by the PSHCE Co-ordinator.

Keeping Healthy

Students are encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle as part of PSHCE. Each year, a HEALTHY WEEK focuses on topics such as Healthy Eating and Exercise. Students are encouraged to eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day
