General News

• Open Door Event – Behind the Lens – Wednesday 19^th June 6pm-7.30pm.  Open to parents and carers.  Exhibition of art and technology work from all year groups.  Please RSVP to cate.blake@immanuelcollege.net

• PTFA Summer Fayre – Saturday 20^th July – midday to 4pm.  Donations of second hand books, chocolate, bottles and tombola prizes are needed.  If you would like to help please see Cate Blake in admin.

• Congratulations to nine girls from Year 8 and 9 who last week took part in the Bradford School Games Cheerleading Competition and came SECOND!! Missing out on first place by just 0.5 of a point so it was a very close competition!  They have been working extremely hard over the past few months rehearsing and a big thanks to Ciara Patchett who choreographed the routine!

• Last week the Year 8 and 9 mixed athletics team performed brilliantly.  Competing against 14 other schools, Immanuel’s team finished 3^rd overall and collected their bronze medals in the closing ceremony! Immanuel beat many schools including Sports Colleges Buttershaw, Tong and Thornton!  Well done to everyone involved! Including our Year 11 Sports Leaders who helped out during the day.

• On Sunday 9^th June many of Immanuel’s female students took part in the Race for Life 5k at Lister Park, it was a brilliant day and everyone had a fantastic time whilst helping to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. A huge well done to all who took part! Especially to Miss Hinkler who took second place a fantastic achievement!

• Year 7, 8 & 9 Watersports Trip – (15^th – 23^rd June) La Fosca in Spain.  Students get to take part in a wide range of water sports.

Monday 17^th June

• GCSE Geography Exam – 1.15pm – Human Environment F & H

• Year 7 Girl’s Rounders’ Tournament –Taking place straight after school at Bradford Girl’s Grammar School

Tuesday 18^th June

• A-Level Core Mathematics Exam – 8.45am – C4

Wednesday 19^th June

• Year 10 Geography Residential Trip – GCSE Year 10 students will spend two days in Scarborough as part of their controlled assessment.  Students will be looking at tourism and coastal erosion.

• A-Level Chemistry Exam – 8.45am – Unit 5

• A-Level Music Exam – 8.45am Further Musical Understanding

• GCSE Further Mathematics Exam – 1.15pm – Paper 1

Thursday 20^th June

• A-Level Physics Exam – 8.45am – A Unit 5D

• Athletics club – 3-4pm. Athletics club has also been really popular but there is still plenty of space for anyone who wants to come. Everyone is welcome; if you are interested please head straight to PE after P6.

• Post 16 Child Development Trip – Year 12 Child Development students will spend the afternoon with KS1 students at Thorpe Primary school.
